Our inaugural 2023 Magnus Ball was a great success! Our aim for this event was to raise money for local services which give voice to some of the most vulnerable people in our community. 10 Cent Tom, Respark Collective and Beddown are small charities which do just this, and we were honoured to have them attend and be the recipients of funds raised through the gala ball and auction.
The night featured some very special guests who each shared with us their missions in advocacy and inclusion. A fashion show of clothing items thoughtfully designed to assist those with disabilities in daily living, was presented by our key note speaker … whose story was nothing short of inspirational.
Billie Musk, a local indigenous woman, shared her family’s experience in the disability space and unveiled an incredible dot painting inspired by the ball itself , which later in the night went for … at our auction.
The Magnus Ball, through the support of sponsors, special guests, attendees and auction, managed to raise $90 000 for the charities above. We know that this will go to excellent use in our community and can’t wait to see the work that 10 Cent Tom, Respark Collective and Beddown do in the future.
With that said, in 2024, we invite you to join us again to stand up for a cause you believe in and be involved in something bigger than yourself. We very much look forward to seeing you in the red carpet!
